1st World Forum On Lifelong Learning " European
and international preparatory Conference to the 6th International
Conference on Adult Education"

Recent transformations of the actors and systems of education and
training, linked with deep cultural, economic, societal and technological
changes, go together with development under all its forms, as regards either
public policies and corporate strategies, or individual and collective dynamics.
Within countless interactions, education and training are themselves in constant
change.
This Forum is intended for elected representatives, public authorities,
company directors, trainers, teachers and researchers. It is supported by many
people, e.g. Jan FIGEL, Member of the European Commission for Education,
Training, Culture and Youth, and Jacques DELORS, President of UNESCO’s
International Commission on Education for the XXIst Century.
Different French and international personalities have confirmed their
participation, among whom Koïchiro MATSUURA, Director-General of UNESCO,
Jacques ATTALI, Edgar MORIN, Jean-Paul HUCHON, Abdul Waheed KHAN, Assistant
Director-General for Communication and Information of UNESCO, Nicholas BURNETT,
Assistant Director- General for Education of UNESCO, and Barbara ISCHINGER,
Director of Education at OECD.
The official opening of the Forum will take place on October 28, 2008 at
the Regional Council of Ile-de-France, and will be followed by four plenary
sessions on October 29, 2008 at UNESCO Headquarters (room 1): 1.
assessment of
the situation in different countries with the participation of experts from OECD
an UNESCO; 2.
discussion on
the implementation of networking in regions and territories 3.
analyses and
prospects around economic, social and individual tendencies 4.
debate on the
risks and opportunities of globalization with managers of international
companies and organizations.
This Forum has been given the seal of approval of the French presidency
of the European Union and has been accepted by UNESCO as an international
thematic preparatory meeting to CONFINTEA VI, UNESCO’s Sixth International
Conference on Adult Education which will be hosted by Brazil in 2009. |
